Its officially Fashion Week season around the world and that means we’re all about to be hit with endless content focused on new trends and how to dress for the next season. It can all be so exciting and inspiring, but incredibly overwhelming at the same time.
The joy of trends is not constantly chasing a new style; it's being curious to try something that pushes your style in a new way that gives you a spark of joy. Maybe that means buying a piece from a designer, maybe that means styling a piece you already have in a new way. The possibilities are endless.
So don't let the onslaught of trends overwhelm you or make you feel lacking. In reality, all we need to do during the season of Fashion Weeks is be inspired.
As co-founders of an independent fashion platform, we strongly believe in the power of clothing; who made it, who’s wearing it, and how it makes people feel. That’s why we created ShowHaus, a place where anyone, with any style, and any budget, can come and be inspired.
During Omaha Fashion Week, we saw a plethora of collections, each with their own unique muses and aesthetics. We were floored by the talent and diversity of references, though we recognize that not all of it is for us. We have a few quick Q's for deciphering the difference between intrigue and inspiration. Is what you're drawn to:
-
something already a part of your personal style?
-
something you aspire to include in your personal style?
-
or something you’ve tried to incorporate into your style already and didn’t stay?
These three simple questions will never lead you astray, so long as you’re totally honest when answering them.
With all of that being said, we did spot a few trends on the runway that spoke to our personal style and reflected the very outfits we wore on OFW’s Red Carpet!
We saw themes of head to toe leather, monochrome outfits, unconventional suiting, sheer pieces, and occasion dressing, which all perfectly mimicked our nightly looks.
